Welcome to the JMR Foundation for Social Justice, Diversity and Inclusion Inc. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering a generation of compassionate and informed leaders. Our mission is to enable students in high schools and universities across the United States to establish and lead clubs that champion social justice, diversity, and inclusion for under-served communities. We believe that by empowering students to engage in meaningful conversations and activities, we can collectively drive positive societal change.
The JMR Foundation for Social Justice, Diversity and Inclusion Inc. envisions a future where every educational institution becomes a hub for inclusive discussions, and where students are not just passive learners but active advocates for social justice. We aim to create a network of empowered student-led clubs that serve as platforms for raising awareness, initiating dialogues, and taking meaningful actions to address issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Our foundation's primary focus is to provide the necessary resources, guidance, and support to students who are passionate about fostering change. We assist in the establishment of clubs that encourage critical thinking, empathy, and leadership skills. These clubs will facilitate open conversations, organize events, lead workshops, and coordinate awareness campaigns that challenge societal norms and encourage allyship.
Recognizing the financial barriers that often hinder underserved students from pursuing higher education, JMR Foundation is committed to promoting educational equity. We are actively working to offer scholarships to minority students, helping them overcome economic challenges and access quality education at both the high school and university levels. By breaking down financial barriers, we aim to create a more diverse and representative educational and societal landscape.
Whether you're a student looking to make a difference, an educator striving for a more inclusive learning environment, or a supporter of equity and inclusion, there's a place for you in the JMR community. Together, we can drive conversations, inspire actions, and make lasting contributions to the advancement of social justice and equal opportunity for those who have been historically left out.
Students: Join the JMR Club, become a student leader, and inspire change within your school or university.
Educators: Support and mentor JMR clubs, integrating conversations on social justice into the curriculum.
Donors and Supporters: Contribute to our scholarship fund, enabling talented underserved students to access education without financial barriers.
At the JMR Foundation, we believe in the potential of every student to create a more inclusive and just society. Join us as we work towards a brighter future, where empowered students are at the forefront of positive transformation. Together, we can make a difference that resonates for generations to come.

JMR Foundation for Social Justice, Diversity and Inclusion Inc. was founded in 2022 by Tashaunda Watson and George Robinson who were inspired by the work that their son championed during his short life.
JMR Foundation for Social Justice, Diversity and Inclusion is dedicated to serving and working on behalf of underserved communities, specifically black and Latin communities. Jordan believed that these same marginalized communities need assistance in getting a seat at the table. Jordan never discounted anyone's contribution to the movement regardless of their race, gender, religion, sexual orientation or socioeconomic class. Jordan believed that having allies in the movement can be immensely instrumental in moving the agenda forward. This has been historically shown throughout different movements in the United States' short history. Everyone can have a seat at the table, but our concentration will be on the Black and Latino populations. Any scholarships offered from the organization will be need-based. This will allow all with a need for assistance to qualify. This is our vision for the Foundation. We would like to ensure that moving forward, this vision is the fuel behind the JMR Foundation.

Social Justice is the distribution of wealth, opportunities, and privileges within a society. Diversity is the practice and quality of including or involving people from a range of different social and ethnic backgrounds and of different genders, sexual orientations, etc. Inclusion is the practice and policy of providing equal access to opportunities and resources for people who might otherwise be excluded or marginalized, such as those of minority groups.

Leadership and influence are two of the most sought-after qualities in today's world. Whether it is in the corporate world, politics, sports, or any other field, people look up to leaders and influencers for guidance and inspiration. But what does it take to be a good leader and influencer? We will explore some of the key qualities and skills that are essential for anyone looking to become a successful leader and influencer.
One of the most important qualities of a good leader and influencer is having a clear vision. A leader needs to have a clear understanding of what they want to achieve and a plan to achieve it. They should be able to communicate their vision effectively to their team or followers and inspire them to work towards it. A leader's vision should be ambitious but also realistic and achievable. They should have a clear sense of purpose and direction that guides their actions and decisions.
Excellent communication is a critical skill for anyone looking to become a successful leader and influencer. A good leader should be able to communicate their ideas and vision clearly and effectively to their team or followers. They should be able to listen actively to feedback and respond appropriately. A leader's communication skills should be persuasive and engaging, allowing them to motivate and inspire others to take action.
Having and displaying empathy is an essential quality for any leader or influencer. A good leader should be able to understand and empathize with the needs and concerns of their team or followers. They should be able to see things from their perspective and respond appropriately. Empathy allows a leader to build trust and credibility with their team or followers and create a sense of community and belonging.
Confidence is another important quality for anyone looking to become a successful leader and influencer. A leader should have confidence in their abilities and decisions and be able to inspire confidence in others. They should be able to take risks and make tough decisions, even in the face of uncertainty or adversity. A confident leader can inspire others to push beyond their comfort zones and achieve their full potential. Integrity is a fundamental quality for any leader or influencer. A good leader should be honest, ethical, and transparent in their actions and decisions. They should be consistent in their values and principles and be able to lead by example. Integrity allows a leader to build trust and respect with their team or followers and create a culture of accountability and responsibility.
Adaptability may be one of the more important and essential skills for anyone looking to become a successful leader and influencer. A good leader should be able to adapt to changing circumstances and be flexible in their approach. They should be able to adjust their plans and strategies as needed and be open to new ideas and perspectives. Adaptability allows a leader to stay agile and responsive in a rapidly changing world and maintain a competitive edge.
Resilience is a key component for any leader or influencer. A good leader should be able to handle setbacks and challenges and bounce back from adversity. They should be able to maintain their composure and focus in difficult situations and inspire others to do the same. Resilience allows a leader to persevere in the face of obstacles and achieve their goals despite the odds.
Passion is a key driver for anyone looking to become a successful leader and influencer. A good leader should be passionate about their vision and mission and be able to inspire others with that passion. They should be able to articulate their goals and vision in a way that captures the hearts and minds of their team or followers. Passion allows a leader to energize and motivate others and create a sense of purpose and meaning. When the uncomfortable becomes comfortable, a person may be well on their way to becoming a good leader or influencer. As daunting as it may be for some; public speaking and taking action is part and parcel in this designation. In conclusion, becoming a successful leader and influencer requires a combination of skills, qualities, and attributes.
One of my fondest memories of Jordan was the One Luv family BBQ we had in PA. It was an opportunity for SUNY Albany friends and family (George Robinson) to get together after graduation. Jordan was a little thing running around with his bright red hair. That's when I learned how outspoken, kind and courteous he was. That weekend, we participated in games, activities and family time. From that weekend on, I was known as his Titi (Aunt) Marsha.
I have so many great memories of Jordan! One in particular that I feel speaks to his awesomeness is walking into the Commons (at SLS) and seeing him, as a high schooler, with construction paper and crayons making homemade Valentine's Day Cards for his parents--not because he didn’t have money to buy cards, but because he said he liked making his own cards for them!
